MUVJBL - Under 14 Girls Grand Final Win

Our Bendigo Junior Braves Under 14 Girls played off for the VJBL VJL One Grand Final last Friday night at Eltham High.

The girls went toe to toe with the undefeated Casey side early in the game, ending the first half just 2 points down. In the second half the Junior Braves side came alive and outscored Casey 16 to 25 points. The under 14 Girls side ended the grand final and Casey’s undefeated run 38 to 31.

Kaleah Bonanno had a terrific game scoring her season high of 18 points which included 3 three-pointers for the Junior Braves side, Taylah Rennie finished the game on 6 points while Ronell Masiboy chipped in with 5 points of her own.

Quarter Final - Defeated by 2nd placed Ballarat - 28 to 36

Semi Final - Defeated 5th placed Warrandyte - 49 to 25

Preliminary Final - Defeated 2nd placed Ballarat - 26 to 22

Grand Final - Defeated 1st placed Casey - 38 to 31

 

Below are the three top scorers for the Under 14 Girls 17/18 VJBL Regular Season;

Kaleah Bonanno finished the regular season with 132 points

Ronell Masiboy finished the regular season with 95 points

Taylah Rennie finished the regular season with 80 points

Under 16 Girls

Unfortunately, our Under 16 Girls lost in a 4-point nail bitter against Dandenong with the Junior Braves side going down 50 to 54. Tayha Watkins was the top scorer for the Junior Braves side with 11 points while Piper Dunlop finished the game with 10 points.

Quarter Final - Defeated 1st placed Southern Peninsula - 57 to 46

Semi Final - Bye

Preliminary Final - Defeated by 2nd placed Dandenong - 50 to 54

 

Below are the three top scorers for the Under 16 Girls for the 17/18 VJBL Regular VC Champ Season;

Piper Dunlop finished the VC Champ regular season with 114 points

Meg McCarthy finished the VC Champ regular season with 84 points

Tayha Watkins finished the VC Champ regular season with 74 points

Under 14 Boys

 

Our Under 14 Boys also came up short against Dandenong losing the game 60 to 75, Martin Steen top scored for the Junior Braves with 16 points while Patrick Byrne finished the game with 15 points.

Quarter Final - Defeated 1st placed Geelong - 62 to 55

Semi Final - Bye

Preliminary Final – Defeated by 3rd placed Dandenong - 60 to 75

 

Below are the three top scorers for the Under 14 Boys 17/18 VJBL Regular VC Reserve Season;

Patrick Byrne finished the VC Reserve regular season with 97 points

Martin Steen finished the VC Reserve regular season with 76 points

Malik Gordon finished the VC Reserve regular season with 72 points
