MUVJBL Round 15

Round 15 saw 3 out of the 5 Junior Braves sides win their matches, with the highlight being the 16 girls defeating top of the ladder Southern Peninsula. Next week both the Under 14 Girls and Under 16 Boys will face country rivals Ballarat, the Under 16 Boys are holding their Sponsors Night and will be the first MUVJBL side to play on the New Court 1 at the Bendigo Stadium.

 

Under 14 Girls

The Under 14 Girls played against fellow country team Korumburra at Knox on Friday night, the game came down to the wire with the Junior Braves side winning the game 32 to 29. Phoebe Radford and Ronell Masiboy top scored with 8 points for the game with Taylah Rennie scoring 7 points including the only three-pointer of the game. The under 14’s now sit in 4th spot on the VJL ONE ladder and sit only one point behind 3rd spot.

 

Under 16 Girls

The Under 16 Girls had a great result against top of the ladder Southern Peninsula. The Junior Braves defeated the Sharks 52 to 40, unfortunately there is no stats present for this game. The Junior Braves side come up against 10th placed Hawthorn on Friday and will be hopping to turn around the result of the last time to two sides met at Bendigo.

 

Under 14 Boys

The Under 14 Boys fired back after their defeat last week, the 14 Boys defeated Mornington 75 to 44. Unfortunately, there was no individual stats recorded for the match. The Under 14 Boys come up against 6th placed Latrobe at the State Basketball Centre this Friday.

 

Under 16 Boys

The Under 16 Boys played Diamond Valley at the Bendigo Stadium, the Junior Braves side lost the game 45 to 56. Dyson Daniels came back into the squad this week and top scored for the game with 17 points and Xavier Cole had a good game with 9 points. The Under 16 Boys come up against Country Rivals for this upcoming Friday’s match for their sponsors you.

 

Under 18 Boys

The Under 18 Boys came up against a strong Melbourne 2 team, the Junior Braves the Melbourne talent and lost the game 48 to 77. William (Billy) Smythe top scored for the Junior Braves with 14 points and Samuel Nitschike was the next top scorer with 7 points. The under 18’s come up against 6th placed Collingwood at the Bendigo Stadium this Friday.
